Guggenheim Securities adds High Yield Team

Founding Principals of Summit Securities and Nine-Member Team Join Growing Sales and Trading Platform

Guggenheim Securities, a subsidiary of Guggenheim Partners, LLC, announced today that Mark Field and John Agnew have joined the firm to oversee the high yield group. Joining them at Guggenheim are nine of their former colleagues from Summit Securities, LLC, which was founded by Field and Agnew. The team brings extensive expertise in secondary trading and origination of high yield securities.

“Mark, John and their team will enhance our ability to take advantage of the attractive opportunities we see in the high yield and distressed corporate debt space,” said Ron Iervolino, head of fixed income sales and trading at Guggenheim Securities.

“We are pleased to add this dimension to our growing platform and look forward to providing clients with access to the team’s expert high yield capabilities,” added Paul Friedman, chief operating officer of Guggenheim Securities.

Prior to co-founding Summit in 2007, Field was the head of U.S. fixed income and an executive committee member for Schroeder Wertheim. He spent more than 20 years at Salomon Brothers, where he headed its high yield department.

Agnew, also a co-founder of Summit, has held a number of senior trading roles over the course of his 20-year career and served as head of high yield trading at Schroder Wertheim, Fleet and BNP Paribas.
